Hurricane Milton washed out and caved in a Lake County road 10 months ago.
The storm turned Britt Road into a gully with a hole larger than a swimming pool.
Still untouched, that hole has grown its own ecosystem with tall grass, small trees taking root and grazing butterflies.
Britt Road is a major cut-through for people trying to get from the south of Mount Dora to the north and parts beyond.
"Yeah it's messed up," said Gary Zimmerman who regularly used the road. He told WESH 2 he now makes the four-mile trek around.
County leaders say the holdup is one property owner who has land the county needs to make repairs.
But the owner wants more than what the county considers it worth.
