DANVILLE, Pa. — In a room inside the Thomas Beaver Free Library in Danville, rows of backpacks line a table and the floor next to it. The backpacks are a part of Columbia, Montour, Snyder, and Union Behavioral Health and Developmental Services school giveaway taking place over the next few weeks in each of the different counties.
This is the first year for the project. The idea came from an internal program that did a similar project just before COVID hit, handing out 200 backpacks at an annual National Night Out event.
