The Utah Outliers, part of junior hockey’s USPHL league, started planning their move to Park City about four years ago.

They were drawn to town by managing partner Rick Wolper, who owns the Black Rock Mountain Resort in Heber City. Wolper promised his team primary usage of a new arena and training facility, which Black Rock would build.

That facility is now in its final stages of construction, and the Outliers are planning to take its ice come October. Players are hoping to move to Park City in the coming weeks for what should be an exciting inaugural season here. Outliers Game Operations Manager Bill McCloud said the organization cannot wait to start playing in front of its new home fans.
