East County drivers who use Highway 14 in Clark County should expect lane closures and delays Monday through Wednesday.

Beginning Monday, the Washington State Department of Transportation will be sealing cracks on the Sixth Avenue and the Evergreen railroad bridges.

Work will occur from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.

The construction will increase the lifespan of the bridges. Rain and water can settle into cracks along roads and freeze and expand at freezing temperatures, making the cracks bigger and damaging the road.
