MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – There are eight current Mountaineer football players who previously were on the Jacksonville State roster.

Two of those – defensive back Kekoura Tarnue and offensive linemen Xavier Bausley – were with Jax State in 2023 before transferring to WVU in time for the 2024 season. Tarnue quickly became an integral part of West Virginia’s defense at safety, playing in all 13 games and starting five of them.

In addition, Bausley, a native of Dunbar, West Virginia, played in six games for the Mountaineers as a sophomore last season after starting 11 contests for Jax State in 2023.

As fate would have it, those former Gamecocks have been joined at WVU by a familiar flock.
