Surrey's Mayor Brenda Locke is urging the provincial government for increased resources following two shootings at Kap's Cafe within a month.

Surrey and Delta police responded to a call around 4:40 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 7) of shots fired in the 8400-block of 120 Street outside of Kap's Cafe.

The cafe was shot at for the first time on July 10th, and police believe the two shootings are connected.

Police located a "potential makeshift incendiary device" at the scene Thursday, which they believe the suspect brought. Police are still working to determine if the shootings were extortion-related or if there is another motive behind them.
