BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A Battle Creek man is in jail Friday on charges of unlawful imprisonment and multiple weapons offenses stemming from a domestic dispute, according to authorities.

The Battle Creek Police Department (BCPD) said they responded to a call reporting shots fired and a bullet having entered a home on Mosher Ave. around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday.

When officers arrived, they determined the gunfire had come from a home where a 37-year-old woman and her 34-year-old husband had been arguing.

BCPD said the woman had been attempting to leave the home when her husband blocked her path and pulled out a gun. They said the man then fired the gun toward two vehicles in the driveway in an attempt to disable the vehicles so his wife could not leave.
