The city of Surprise asked Arizona State University and the Sun Corridor Network for a fiber connectivity feasibility study as the city tries to enhance its fiber optic communications systems.
Surprise wants to improve data transmission, enable real-time operational monitoring and increase overall infrastructure efficiency at municipal water sites.
The Surprise City Council on Aug. 5 signed off on an intergovernmental agreement with the Arizona Board of Regents for a study that will cost up to $15,000.
