Atlanta police responded to gunshots fired near Emory University early Friday evening.

“The Atlanta police department is responding to reports of an active shooter in the area of Emory University , Near 1760 CLIFTON RD, Atlanta, GA. Please avoid the area,” the department posted on social media around 5:30 p.m.

A wounded officer was reportedly rushed to Emory University Hospital, according to Georgia station WSB-TV. Footage captured by CNN appears to show a uniformed cop being carried on a stretcher into a waiting ambulance.

The FBI in Atlanta said it too was responding to reports of gunfire and coordinating with local officials.
