The death of an 83-year-old Connecticut woman found in her Old Greenwich home has been ruled a homicide, while the victim’s 56-year-old son — also found dead in the home this week — died by suicide , authorities said Friday.

Police came across the bodies of Suzanne Adams and Stein Erik Soelberg while conducting a welfare check on Tuesday. Both lived at the home at 11 Shorelands Place , according to Greenwich police.

Following autopsies performed on Thursday, a medical examiner determined Adams died from blunt injury to her head with neck compression , according to the Hartford Courant. Soelberg’s death was said to have been cause by self-inflicted “sharp force injuries to his neck and chest.”
