A 56-year-old man was arraigned in a Lane County Circuit Court on charges related to the alleged rape and sexual abuse of a teenager in Eugene.
According to the Eugene Police Department, the man had been in contact with the teen for a few years when the abuse occurred.
Using the Automated License Plate Reader system, officers found and arrested the man on Briggs Hill Road following a traffic stop on Aug. 6. He was lodged at the Lane County Jail.
On Aug. 7, the man was arraigned in a Lane County Circuit Court on four counts of third-degree rape, a felony, two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, a misdemeanor, and four counts of third-degree sodomy, a felony.
A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Sept. 11.
