LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A man has been accused of beating a pregnant woman, causing a miscarriage, before threatening her with a gun in Lincoln.

On Tuesday just before 9 a.m., Lincoln Police responded to a residence near South 22nd and C Streets after a woman called 911 saying a man pointed a gun at her. Officers arrived and took 26-year-old Tyriq McMaryion into custody.

Police said the man had hid a handgun into a green backpack. The gun had been reported stolen.

Police said the two had gotten into an argument when McMaryion went to the other room and grabbed the gun from his bag.

McMaryion then grabbed the woman by the back of the neck and pushed her into the ground, court records show. The two fought before McMaryion began beating her and spitting in her face, police said.
