BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Today is International Cat Day.
The Bangor Humane Society wants to help people find their purr-fect match.
The shelter is now at full cat capacity which makes them have to turn away new cats.
They are currently experiencing what they call kitten season, when the weather is warm and there is an influx of kittens outside and in their shelter.
Turning away cats is difficult for them, so they ask those who anticipate surrendering a cat to plan ahead.
“We say all the time that because we are able to take care of so many animals here, we don’t worry about the animals that are in our care.
