Chris Davies has lamented two refereeing decisions that cost Birmingham City an opening day victory over Ipswich Town.
Blues were heading for three points against the promotion favourites thanks to a strike from Jay Stansfield before the controversial award of a penalty to Ipswich in stoppage time.
Substitute Lyndon Dykes was adjudged to have handled the ball and George Hirst converted from 12 yards to ensure the spoils were shared at St Andrew’s.
Davies said: “I thought it was really, really harsh. He’s gone up and obviously his arms are raised – you have to raise your arms to jump – and it’s scraped his fingers on the way down.
“It’s really harsh. I would be surprised if anyone doesn’t have that opinion. That’s happened now, we just have to take it.
