MACON, Ga. — A Macon teenager is making sure young girls across the county have access to essential feminine hygiene products through a donation project that will benefit four local schools.

Madison Thomas, an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America , will deliver 300 bags of various feminine products to Bruce Elementary, Veterans Elementary, Ingram Pye Elementary and L.H. Williams Elementary beginning Friday morning.

"I want to make sure everyone else has what they need. Even if they can't get it, they can get it from their school," Thomas said.

The donation stems from Thomas' desire to address what she sees as an overlooked need among young girls. She said she wanted to ensure students have access to these products both at home and at school.
