EAST PENNSBORO TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) -- Friday's Hometown Heroes are donating special bicycles for kids with special needs.

A nonprofit called Variety partnered with the Capital Area Intermediate Unit 15 and Blackburn's to present seven adaptive bikes to local kids with disabilities.

One of them was Lavender Maloney from Harrisburg.

"Getting an adaptive bicycle means a lot to be able to get her outside, because we're very outside people," said Cindy Maloney, her mother. "So, to find things that she can do outside is phenomenal with us."
