CARBONDALE — A pair of prominent figures in Carbondale's history received recognition on Friday morning with the unveiling of honorary street signs bearing their names.

The stretch of North Washington Street from East Main Street to East Fisher Street will display blue street signs designating it as Elbert Simon Sr. Way.
