ANACONDA, Mont — The Granite County Sheriff's Office in Montana confirms Michael Paul Brown, 45, was taken into custody today. Law enforcement has been searching for the accused killer for seven days.

Brown is the suspect in a shooting that killed four people at a bar in Anaconda on Friday, August 1.

4 News Now has learned that Brown was arrested approximately 2 p.m. (MST) near the Ranch Bar on Highway 2, about 10 miles west of Anaconda.

According to Attorney General Austin Knudsen, Brown was armed with a weapon upon arrest and medically cleared.

Brown is in custody of Anaconda-Deer Lodge County authorities
