ANACONDA — Michael Brown, suspected of fatally shooting four people in an Anaconda bar on Aug. 1, was found Friday after a multi-day manhunt that involved hundreds of officers, according to reports and officials familiar with the situation.

Brown was found Friday afternoon near the Ranch Bar, 13177 Montana Highway 1.

Bill Everett, chief executive of Anaconda-Deer Lodge County, said Brown was captured in or near an old abandoned trailer near Anaconda.

“He’s alive and it’s over,” Everett told Lee Newspapers. “Anaconda can get some sleep tonight.”

Everett said he could not divulge details of the capture itself and if any shots were fired but said a briefing was planned soon and the county attorney could talk about that.
