One of the North Bay Canoe Club’s best-known BCC’s homegrown athletes, Nancy Olmsted, represented Canada at the World Masters Canoe Championships, held from July 29–31, 2025, in Montemor-o-Velho, Portugal. Competing at this elite level brought back vivid and positive memories for Olmsted, who began her paddling journey as a youth at the NBCC. The event offered a rewarding opportunity to return to the world stage among passionate and high-level athletes from around the globe. Canada was strongly represented by a large and enthusiastic contingent of athletes, ranging in age from 35 to 82.
