COLUMBUS, Ohio — Intel is falling behind key competitors in the race to deliver artificial intelligence chips — the very technology driving the future of the industry.

These developments have cast a long shadow over Intel’s ambitions for Ohio, where it aspires to transform the region into the “Silicon Heartland.” The delays in New Albany not only hamper production but also impact local economic hopes tied to the promised boom in tech manufacturing.

For now, though, Intel is standing by its CEO.

“Intel, the Board of Directors and Lip-Bu Tan are deeply committed to advancing U.S. national and economic security interests and are making significant investments aligned with the President's America First agenda,” a company spokesperson said.
