(NEXSTAR) – A police officer was injured responding to an active shooter at Emory University in Atlanta Friday.

The university alerted students to "RUN, HIDE, FIGHT" in a social media post to X at 5:01 p.m. An hour and a half later, the university said a shelter in place had been lifted.

At 6:43 p.m., Atlanta police said there was "no ongoing threat to the Emory campus or the surrounding neighborhood."

"The incident involved a single shooter who is now deceased," said police. One officer was injured while responding to the incident, the Atlanta Police Department confirmed. It was not immediately clear if others were hurt.

The shooting was reported at a CVS Pharmacy at Emory Point, located down the street from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention headquarters, also in Atlanta.
