MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WIAT) -- Alabama has helped tell stories through classic movies, from "Fried Green Tomatoes" to "Just Mercy." The state's entertainment office hopes to cut new records, not just movies, here at home.
Whether it's making movies or making music, the Alabama Entertainment Office said they can help make it happen. Meghann Bridgeman, Chief Entertainment Officer, said artists could be eligible for 25% back on their approved expenses and 35% back on Alabama hires for their music projects. When making albums, she said budgets can range from $30,000-$200,000 to remain eligible for the tax incentive.
It's all part of a rebranding to promote creative industries in the state.
