A U.S. Army veteran suspected of killing four people in a Montana bar last week was captured Friday, according to law enforcement officials. The arrest ends a search that lasted eight days as local, state and federal officers searched brushy terrain outside the small town of Anaconda.
The suspect, Michael P. Brown, 45, had fled into the foothills near the town after the shooting Aug. 1 in the Owl Bar, a neighborhood tavern, authorities said. He was apprehended around 2 p.m. Friday, officials said, in an area west of Anaconda and south of Highway 1.
“It’s a good day,” Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen said at a news conference Friday evening. “We got our man.”
