POTTSVILLE, Pa. — The flag at Pottsville City Hall hangs at half-staff, to mourn the loss of a mayor the city knew and loved for more than a decade. John Reiley served as mayor of Pottsville for 13 years, while he may be gone, his impact on the city remains.
"John is, in my opinion, the most respected mayor the city of Pottsville has ever had. He was a 24/7 full-time mayor," said Ian Lipton, Pottsville Parking Authority Executive Director.
Executive director of the city's parking authority, Ian Lipton, says he and former Mayor John Reiley were inseparable. Friends since the 80s, Lipton says there was never a time that Reiley didn't provide service to the community.
