BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Tacos La Villa is set to host their annual Back-to-School Drive this weekend, where they will be handing out free backpacks to students across Kern County before school starts.

The Bakersfield event is set for Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Tacos La Villa, located at 1400 Wible Rd. in Bakersfield, according to organizers.

The drive in Shafter is scheduled for Aug. 10, also from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. The location is 135 Central Valley Highway.

Another drive is set in Lamont at 7930 Panama Rd., organizers said. The drive will run from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Each student will be limited to receiving one backpack while supplies last.

Tacos La Villa said the drive’s goal is to support families and help set kids up for success this school year.
