LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — Governor Joe Lombardo is expected to authorize the Nevada National Guard to temporarily assist U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a spokesperson confirmed Friday.

The Governor’s Office told FOX5 that Lombardo is “in the process of authorizing” the arrangement, which will be in a “temporary and administrative” capacity. The arrangement will also be fully federally funded.

This comes after the Trump administration authorized the deployment of National Guard units across the country last month. National Guard has been deployed to support ICE in five other states, including Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, Georgia, and Florida.
