ATLANTA — An officer is dead, sources said, after an active shooting on Emory Atlanta's campus on Friday afternoon.

Reports began coming in at around 5 p.m. at Emory Point CVS on Emory University's campus. The Atlanta Police Department said a single shooter is dead, and a DeKalb County Police officer was injured and taken to the hospital. It was reported that the officer later died, according to 11Alive sources.

No details about the nature of the officer's injuries were released. Authorities said no civilians were shot during the incident.

While the shelter-in-place order has been lifted, authorities are still telling people to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
