LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

From a church laundry room to a neighborhood of homes, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville celebrated 40 years on Friday with a Ground Blessing Ceremony at Santa Fe Crossing, marking a milestone in the city’s fight for affordable housing.

“When we talk about safe, quality and affordable housing, that's not a privilege. That should be a right for all families,” said Mayor Craig Greenberg.

Greenberg has set a goal to create and preserve 15,000 units of affordable housing by 2027, calling housing one of Louisville’s most pressing needs.
