ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Dozens of people from across Bethalto, the small community in Southern Illinois, gathered together in the Wood River Township’s Town Hall. They came from all over the Bethalto area to talk about discolored water pouring from their taps.

In this series, First Alert 4 has been looking into claims from homeowners across Bethalto that their showerheads, washing machines, sinks and toilets have been filling with discolored water.

Residents who met at the community meeting on August 7th said they’ve known about discolored water for decades -- some claiming they’ve seen consistently discolored water over the past 20 years.
