Updated Friday, Aug. 8, 8 p.m.: Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens confirmed during a press conference Friday evening that the active shooter who terrorized Emory Atlanta's campus this afternoon beginning around 4 p.m. did not harm any civilians. He confirmed that the shooter fired multiple rounds at the CDC Building but did not injure or kill any civilians. A Dekalb County police officer was injured and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. His status has not been officially confirmed.

Updated Friday, Aug. 8, 7:01 p.m.: The Atlanta Police Department has confirmed that the active shooter who opened fire at Emory Atlanta at about 5 p.m. is dead. One law enforcement officer was injured while responding.
