An active shooter entered the CVS at Clifton Road and began firing multiple rounds at the CDC office building at approximately 4:50 p.m. today. The shooter who is dead from a gunshot wound, reportedly took aim at the Centers for Disease Control security officers in the building directly across the street from the pharmacy. It is unclear at this time if the wound was self-inflicted or the result of shots fired from responding officers. A DeKalb County police officer who was reportedly the first to respond to a call of shots fired was wounded by the assailant and is currently in critical condition at Emory Hospital.

Atlanta police responded and found the DeKalb officer in critical condition.
