North Las Vegas Police officers fatally shot a man while responding to a report of a domestic disturbance, according to a news release.
Responders were dispatched to the 3100 block of Emmons Avenue at about 1:45 p.m. for reports of a disturbance between male and female adult family members, the release stated.
Upon arrival, officers found a man armed with a knife. He refused to obey commands to drop the knife in both English and Spanish from the officers before walking away, the release stated.
Then, the man charged at the officers with the knife, and two officers fired at him, striking him, police stated.
Medical personnel were requested to the scene and the man was taken to UMC Trauma, where he died of his injuries, the release stated.
