TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A small brush fire broke out late this afternoon at Dierkes Lake.
Firefighters were called to the scene near Shoshone Falls at just at 4:12 p.m. after a welder working on a metal gate on the road said a spark got away from him and started the fire.
Approximately an acre was burned before firefighters had the flames under control within 12 to 20 minutes. Twin Falls Fire Department, Rock Creek Fire Department, and the Twin Falls Police Department were on scene.
Through traffic had to be halted while firefighters put out the fire, but later they were allowed to go through.
At last report, firefighters were still mopping up hotspots.
