SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- A house fire has displaced two families in Syracuse.

On Friday, August 8, at 3:21 p.m., Syracuse firefighters were alerted by the Onondaga County 911 Center of a reported fire in the 200 block of West Matson Avenue.

Crew members from Station 8 on South Salina Street arrived to the scene in two minutes, where they found a 2 1/2-story home with fire coming from the second floor.

Firefighters began to deploy fire hoses into the house, as other team members began searching for victims. A "Signal 99" was sent out, indicating a working fire.

Crew members encountered intense heat and heavy smoke conditions, but continued their firefighting and search efforts.

They got the fire under control within 20 minutes, and fully extinguished it in 30 minutes. The fire was c
