AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened in east Austin on Friday.

APD said on social media it is investigating in the area of 2600 Rosewood Avenue, which is near Webberville Road.

Police are expected to hold a media briefing to provide more details. A KXAN photojournalist is also headed to the scene.
