CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns open the preseason Friday night against the Panthers at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders will start for the Browns. With Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel dealing with hamstring injuries, and the Browns opting to keep Joe Flacco out of the game, Sanders should see plenty of action.

Tyler Huntley, signed by the Browns after the recent quarterback injuries, is also expected to play.

The Browns will sit most of their starters, according to coach Kevin Stefanski. The Panthers, meanwhile, are expected to play many of theirs, potentially giving Sanders a look at a starting NFL defense.
