The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has released figures that provide reassurance regarding the impact of PIP claim reviews.

People receiving Personal Independence Payment worry their benefits will be reduced - or even terminated completely - when their award undergoes reassessment, either at the conclusion of its fixed period or when they report a change to their health.

DWP statistics up to the end of April 2025 demonstrate that the majority of people whose claim undergoes review see their payments maintained at the same level or increased. Only a small percentage are informed their PIP is being reduced or stopped, reports Birmingham Live .
