Around 100 food vendors selling a variety of cuisines are gathering at Riverside Marina in Detroit this weekend for the third annual Hungry Black Man Detroit Food & Music Festival.
Organized by social media personality and food journalist Starex Smith — known online as the Hungry Black Man — the festival started Friday and continues Saturday, Aug. 9, 3-10 p.m. at Riverside Marina, 11000 Freud in Detroit.
A breeze from the river rolled through rows of food trucks, food trailers and vendors set up in tents as things kicked off Friday afternoon.
A huge variety of cuisine was represented including soul food, egg rolls, burgers, barbecue, sweets and pizza. Local names represented included House of Barbecue, EggRoll Diva, Khalipha's Mobile Kitchen, Betta Than Yo Mama's, What the Dill? and F
