A summer tradition kicked off Friday, inviting everyone to get a taste of Italy.

The annual Italian Festival at Saint Paul's Catholic Church began Friday, featuring its well-known dishes and traditional dancers.

The festival also includes a variety of vendors. A mass will also take place at the church. The free fundraising event takes place right in the heart of Little Italy on 1617 Walnut Street.

The festival will also honor the late Mr. Ron Divechio, who was a part of the festival for over 40 years.

"It's not only the Italians, but this is a celebration of the feast of the Assumption of Mary, we'll never forget that we're here to support our church, Saint Paul's and a lot of people come back for that faith, also just to get together," said Brian Ferraro, co-chair of the festival.
