LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Jefferson County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Brian Yearwood spent his second day on the job visiting several schools across the district, including Semple Elementary and Churchill Park School.
“You know, this marks day number two, and I'm just immersing myself in the excitement,” Yearwood said. “You know, I asked children today, I said, ‘How is your day going?’ And everyone [was] off doing great, having a great time.”
At Semple Elementary, Yearwood was greeted with high-fives and smiles from students and staff.
“It is such an honor,” said Semple Elementary Principal Danielle Randele. “I was super happy that the staff was excited about having him here. The kids were excited, and it's just an honor to have him visit us, especially the first couple days of sc
