Lions-Falcons preseason game suspended after Morice Norris injury

The Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons had their preseason Week 1 game suspended following a scary injury to Lions defensive back Morice Norris.

Norris' injury occurred in the fourth quarter of the contest when his head snapped back while attempting to make a tackle. The safety did not get up after the play and was eventually loaded onto a stretcher and into an ambulance.

Once play was set to resume, Lions and Falcons players made an unprecedented move to keep kneeling the ball in order to run the clock out, as neither side was interested in playing out the rest of the game, which was certainly understandable given the scary situation that unfolded with Norris.
