Cost of living adjustment for Smith County employees survives budget workshop

Smith County Commissioners held a three-and-a-half hour budget workshop on Friday. On the agenda, a 3 percent cost-of-living raise for county employees. But many county departments didn’t get the needs they asked for. The budget isn’t final yet and will be voted on in early September.
