TEXAS, USA — Some Texas lawmakers spoke in California alongside California Gov. Gavin Newsom, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, California Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas and others about GOP-led redistricting efforts in Texas and a responding redistricting effort in heavily-Democratic California.

More than 50 Texas House Democrats left the state Sunday to deny Republicans a quorum and delay their efforts to approve new congressional maps. . California officials are floating the prospect of their own potential redistricting effort if Texas moves forward with its redistricting.

Pelosi had pointed words for Texas Republicans and the redistricting effort.
