SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The battle over redistricting continued with California Governor Gavin Newsom hosting a group of Texas Democrats on Friday in Sacramento.

Democrats in the Texas State Legislature are currently breaking quorum while a special session is underway to redistrict seats in the state.

At a press conference with the Texas Democratic delegation, Newsom pushed back against Texas Republicans' effort to redraw the state's district lines for the benefit of Donald Trump in the midterm election.

“What’s happening in the United States of America is not normal,” Newsom said at the press conference. “...We cannot allow this to be considered normal.”
