LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Laredo Mayor Dr. Victor Trevino and the Governor of Nuevo Leon, Samuel Garcia, collaborated on two memorandums on Friday, August 8, to assist with medical shortages in Texas.

One memorandum utilizes state law to bring doctors from Nuevo Leon to practice in Texas communities where medical shortages are present, while the second agrees upon the company Green Corridors working with Laredo on a small rail project, which is expected to streamline trade in the area.

Trevino says that this will benefit the city as they establish a program to facilitate the new process, and further states that doctors who take part in the program will be able to stay after four years.
