LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A seven-year-old had the chance to serve as Laredo’s top law enforcement officer through a partnership between the Laredo Police Department and the Boys & Girls Club of Laredo to raise funds for the organization.
Robin Jupiter Rodriguez served as Laredo’s Chief of Police for one day, learning all the duties that come with joining the police force before starting second grade at Colonel Santos Elementary.
“I did fingerprints, I saw the evidence room and we had a staff meeting. I also got picked up in a cop car and arrested my mom,“ Rodriguez said.
As part of her leadership role, Rodriguez met with the K-9 unit, tested some of the department’s new technology and relieved some stress in the police department’s gym.
