The Buffalo Bills added a kicker to the roster Friday morning, signing Caden Davis.

The move comes a day ahead of the team’s preseason opener Saturday against the New York Giants at Highmark Stadium. Tyler Bass is not expected to play in that game for the Bills because of an injury, necessitating the addition of Davis, a 24-year-old rookie who played in college at Ole Miss.

Davis originally signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent earlier this year. He broke the Ole Miss school record with four field goals of 50-plus yards and finished his career ranked fifth in program history with 42 made field goals, sixth in points kicking (228), sixth in extra points (102) and seventh in overall points scored despite spending just two seasons there.
