DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A Duluth man is recovering after being shot while driving with his family on I-35.
Chris Durovec from Duluth told his story Friday exclusively to Northern News Now. He said he was taking his family to the water park in Taylor Falls when he was shot.
He was struck near the Harris exit, going southbound on I-35.
His wife was in the seat next to him, with his daughter and her boyfriend in the back. He says he heard a loud bang on the driver’s side door and couldn’t figure out what had happened, but he immediately grabbed his leg.
“We were trying to figure out what happened, why was my leg bleeding, and there was nothing in the car to cause that. I asked her ‘Is there a hole in the car?’” said Durovec.
Durovec’s wife used her sweatshirt as a tourniquet
