An Arkansas man has been sentenced to life in prison following the 2022 fatal shooting of a 21-year-old detention officer at a Perry County jail.
According to Pulaski County Prosecutor Will Jones, Roderick Lewis — the suspect in the fatal shooting — was found guilty of first degree murder. Lewis received a life sentence and an additional 15 years for firearms enhancement.
The initial incident took place in June of 2022, when 21-year-old Jeremiah Story was fatally shot at the Perry County Jail, where he worked as a detention officer.
